Although Turin is slightly closer, Grenoble Airport remains a popular gateway to the ski-resorts of the Haute Alpes region.  Unfortunately there is no direct public transport route between Grenoble Airport and Serre Chevalier, although it is possible to get there by a combination of shuttle bus and coach.  Easier said than done if you are travelling with kids and skis!
