Montgenèvre is part of the famous Voie Lactée (Milky Way) Ski area, where one can ski over the border into Italy to Claviere, Cezana, Sestriere (host to the 2006 Winter Olympics) and Sauze d'Oulx. The whole ski domain offers over 400km of pistes of varying difficulty, making it one of the most comprehensive mountain complexes in the world.
