The temperatures may be rising and the sun has definitely got his hat on, but that doesn't necessarily mean an end to the winter season here in Serre Chevalier. For many, Spring is the prefered time of the season to visit the Alps and get their winter sports fix.

So, what is so amazing about spring skiing? Generally skiing this time of year is more relaxed. Long lunch breaks and afternoon drinks up the mountain in beautiful sunshine is a perk spring skiing can provide. Whereas earlier in the season everyone is fighting to catch first lifts and hit the slopes, spring time sees a more staggered approuch to heading up the mountain for holiday makers.

Holidays are a time to relax and have fun, sping skiing lets you have a late breakfast before heading up the mountain for the best conditions of the day. Less layers are needed on the slopes this time of year also. Whereas in winter when as many layers as possible are needed to combat the freezing conditions, sping skiers can return home on a Grenoble airport transfer with a very healthy glow and, if they're not careful, some classic goggle eyes.

Spring skiing dealsApril is the time of season for the intelligent and patient skier, if you can stand to wait the first four months it is well worth it. Skiing in softer conditions can be tiring but it is preferable to ice found in earlier months, and the warm temperatures and chilled rose do go some way to refreshing weary joints. Those visiting also get the benefit of reduced prices, flights are cheaper in the spring as are the resort hotels all of which are accessible on a Grenoble ski transfer.

The resort of Serre Chevalier is also doing it's bit to see off the season in style -
