Although Turin is slightly closer, Grenoble Airport remains a popular gateway to the ski-resorts of the Haute Alpes region.  Unfortunately there is no direct public transport route between Grenoble Airport and Montgenèvre, although it is possible to get there by a combination of shuttle bus and two separate coaches.  Possible if you are traveling alone and can afford to spend a day traveling, but practically impossible if you are travelling with kids and skis!
